The location for
the Creative Web Design course is Chapter
Arts Centre in Market Road, Canton, Cardiff. Chapter
has free off-street parking, a well-stocked bar, and
a friendly and reasonably priced café.
Chapter
Arts Centre welcomes disabled people: the Market Road
site is fully accessible.

The hardware used
for the course is based on Apple
iBooks running Mac OS 9 connected by an Apple wireless AirPort network
to a central server, which is in turn connected to
the Internet by a fast ‘always-on’ connection. |

for the course varies by module, as follows:

Module
One
Macromedia
Dreamweaver - 17 September to 10 December 2002. This
core module introduces WYSIWYG design using Dreamweaver
4 to construct a user-friendly web site incorporating
advanced features including frames, forms, JavaScript,
and multimedia content.

Module
Two
Adobe
Photoshop - 14 January to 8 April 2003. This
module focuses on the digital manipulation of images
for use on the web using Photoshop 6 to import and retouch
photographic images, apply special effects and transformations
and automate time-consuming procedures. The course
also covers producing vector graphics for use on the
web using Macromedia
Fireworks 4.

Module
Three
Macromedia
Flash - 29 April to 22 July 2003. This final
module introduces Macromedia Flash 5 which is the industry
standard for creating high impact web sites. Flash
is used to create vector graphics and animations, incorporate
buttons and interactive elements and add movies and sound
to a site.
